Working with policymakers

We engage with parliamentarians and policymakers to demonstrate the importance and relevance of social science to society, policy and public services.

The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Social Science and Policy aims to bring together parliamentarians and social scientists to demonstrate the relevance and value of social science research.

Our network of What Works Centres are designed to provide the commissioners of public services with valuable information about the impact of projects and programmes designed to improve growth, reduce crime, tackle poverty and re-design public services.

For researchers who want to influence Westminster, the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) (takes you to parliament.uk) has a dedicated social sciences section, funded in part by ESRC, which can provide advice and support on engaging with parliamentarians.
