Dr Ayesha Siddiqi

Dr Ayesha Siddiqi is a University Lecturer at the Department of Geography at University of Cambridge. Her research focus is on developing postcolonial approaches to the study of hazard-based disasters. She has worked locally, with affected communities, in a number of countries in the Global South.

From 2018 to 2019 she was on a part-time secondment to the International Development (Select) Committee of the UK House of Commons and has also written papers on disaster policy for organisations such as The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction.

Ayesha serves on the editorial board of Disasters. Her PhD was funded through an AXA Doctoral Fellowship on climate risks, completed at King’s College London in 2015.
