Strategic Lead for International Development
Christina leads the Economic and Social Research Council’s (ESRC) International Development team and is responsible for maintaining ESRC’s relationships with key international development agencies. The team has a key aim to expand the capacity of the UK research base to engage in international partnership working to address major development challenges.
After completing her PhD at Bristol in 2011, Christina joined ESRC in 2013 as a senior manager responsible for knowledge exchange and engagement with charitable organisations. She has held a variety of roles in ESRC, including Head of International Strategy, Head of International Development Research and Head of Skills and Methods.
Christina’s research background is at the intersection of international relations and cultural studies, and she has published on (among other topics) the politics of science fiction, identity and US foreign policy; war, gender and popular culture; and the multifaceted relationships between popular culture and world politics.
