In the run-up to the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), we asked our researchers to tell us about their work and the challenges of tackling climate change.
Dr Duncan Watson-Parris is a Senior Researcher within the Climate Processes Group at Oxford University.
Duncan’s work uses satellite observations and climate models to understand competing effects of microscopic particles found in nature and also generated from human activity. This can be used to improve predictions of future warming.
I really hope the world’s governments can use COP26 to agree to ambitious emissions targets to match the stated ambition in the Paris agreement, and keep global warming to well below two degrees.
