UKRI publishes annual report

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) has published its annual report and accounts for the financial year 2021 to 2022.

The report, which has been laid before parliament, includes a performance report providing a summary of UKRI’s performance and finances.

It outlines:

  • UKRI’s response to support the recovery from the impacts of COVID-19
  • mitigating the effects of the ongoing uncertainty around the UK’s association to Horizon Europe
  • the important role of research and innovation in shaping the scientific agenda of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) conference in Glasgow.

Five-year strategy

UKRI has also published its first five-year strategy for 2022 to 2027. This strategy highlights the organisation’s key role in delivering on the government’s ambitions for the UK as a global leader in research and innovation.

The annual report and accounts also includes UKRI’s accountability report and financial statements for 2021 to 2022.
