Areas we fund

The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) supports research in economic, social, behavioural and human data science.

We fund research and invest in training, methods development, and resources such as data collections and services in the social science disciplines. These disciplines include:

Check if your research is within ESRC’s remit

Before making a research proposal, you can check if your research is suitable for ESRC funding. It’s a good idea to do this if your research is interdisciplinary or not clearly within ESRC’s research areas.
