Industrial CASE allocation to industrial partners - EPSRC

Industrial CASE (ICASE) studentships, in the form of ‘vouchers’, are allocated to businesses and related organisations each year using an algorithm based on the organisations’ financial contributions to EPSRC-funded research.

Eligible organisations are ranked by their algorithmic number. This is calculated from:

  • the number of grants they support
  • their total annualised contribution to the EPSRC portfolio.

Vouchers are distributed among them according to their rank.

Typically 40 to 50 organisations will receive vouchers, depending on how many are available in that year. Any vouchers which a company is unable to use are reallocated among the recipient businesses using a competitive process.
