All UK higher education institutions (HEIs) are eligible to receive funds for research, postgraduate training and associated activities.
As with all UKRI councils, AHRC funds an array of independent research organisations (IROs). This work has produced some outstanding research.
IROs may be eligible to receive funding if they:
- have an existing in-house capacity to carry out research
- can demonstrate an independent capability to undertake and lead research programmes.
- find out more about eligibility for funding
- read the report A Decade of Success, which captures the scope and range of AHRC-funded research in the 10 years to June 2017
- read IRO case studies.
