MRC Centre for Molecular Bacteriology and Infection

The Medical Research Council (MRC) Centre for Molecular Bacteriology and Infection is a cross-faculty, multidisciplinary research centre comprising over 55 academic and postdoctoral research staff and 35 postgraduate students. Research themes include infection genomics, cellular and structural microbiology, host innate immunity and antimicrobial resistance and persistence. The overall mission is to be at the forefront of research on bacterial infection and immunity, with significant critical mass to cover major areas of scientific interest and clinical importance. To ensure critical mass, there is an active masters and PhD programme aimed at basic and clinical researchers.
