Equality, diversity and inclusion – ESRC

Contents

Overview

The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) funds world-leading research, data and post-graduate training in the economic, behavioural, social and data sciences to understand people and the world around us. Our work helps raise productivity, address climate change, improve public services and generate a prosperous, inclusive, healthy and secure society.

ESRC is committed to embedding equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) principles, commitments and ambitions in all we do.

A dynamic, diverse, and inclusive research and innovation system must be an integral part of the work we do in ESRC, giving everyone the opportunity to participate and to benefit. By embedding EDI in all we do, it not only makes us a better funder and employer but allows us to maximise the impact of our research and innovation to involve and benefit all parts of society.

We are working with the social science community to create an inclusive research environment, driving change within the system so that everyone is supported and able to thrive.

We are working together as part of UKRI to better understand and address the diversity challenges that we face. Find out more about UKRI’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
